PADI IDC Preparation
If you have already read through “Why Magic Resorts” then you will know how important the IDC preparation is. The first thing you can start is the PADI IDC Online. If you decide to buy the PADI Crew Pack (See Crew Pack Packages) from Magic Oceans, we will send you the codes for you to start the IDC E-leaning. If you decide to buy the IDC Crew Pack from another supplier, that’s great, just make sure it has the E-learning codes inside. We, at Magic Oceans, only conduct the latest version of the PADI IDC and the E-learning is compulsory, please make sure you buy the correct materials. If you have any questions, kindly contact jamie@magicisland.online
These are the subjects covered on the IDC online:
– Learning, Instruction and the PADI System
– General Standards and Procedures
– Risk Management
– Marketing Diving
– Start Diving
– Teaching PADI Specialty Diver Courses
– Business of Diving
– Keep Diving
– How to Teach the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP)
Dive theory
The next thing to think about is the dive theory. This is by far the most failed part of the PADI IDC and PADI IE, it’s also the easiest part to learn at home. As a divemaster, it is expected of you to be up to date with the latest dive theory. The best way to make sure you have all the knowledge is to take the theory online. The theory online goes through the 5 knowledge sections:
– Physics of Diving
– Physiology of Diving
– Dive Equipment
– Recreational Dive Planner and Decompression Theory
– Dive Skills and Environment
Skills and demonstrations
Diving skills and demonstrations are going to be practiced a lot during the course but, if you can get some practice in before you arrive it would be great. Things you should defiantly practice are:
– Tying knots (Bowline, Double half hitch & Sheep bent)
– Using a compass and setting a heading
– 20 basic skills (if you have access to the water)
