The Instructor Development course is split into two main parts- the Assistant Instructor (AI) and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) most people complete both parts during the Instructor Development Course (IDC) which combines the two parts together. This is the most efficient and effective way to work towards becoming a PADI Instructor. After successful completion of the IDC you can enrol in the Instructor Exam (IE) and after successful completion of the two day exam, conducted by a PADI Staff member, you will now be a PADI Open Water Instructor.
